Your account

You must be at least 16 to use HeyAnimal. Use your own account, provide accurate eligibility information and keep access secure. Do not impersonate another person or attempt to bypass privacy or purchase controls.

Your content stays yours

You retain ownership of your photos and other content. You grant HeyAnimal permission to host, process and display that content as needed to provide the service according to your audience choices, and to handle safety reports. Only share content you have the right to share. Respect other people’s privacy and intellectual property.

People and animals come first

No harassment, threats, exploitation, sexual abuse material, cruelty, encouragement of dangerous animal handling, unlawful content or spam. Never disturb wildlife or put yourself or others at risk for a photograph. Follow local rules and keep a respectful distance.

You can report posts and comments or block a person. Content or accounts may be restricted for violating these rules. Contact support if you believe a decision was made in error.

Sharing and private memories

A newly captured photo may be eligible for social publication within 24 hours when the server can verify the capture time. You can keep a photo privately beyond that window. Uploads and offline saving do not extend the deadline. Published posts do not automatically disappear when 24 hours pass. Social submissions require a caption and selected country and pass human safety review. Album access never makes a restricted photo available to a broader audience.

HeyAnimal+

HeyAnimal+ is optional. Before you confirm a subscription, Apple shows its current localized price, billing period and renewal terms. Manage renewal or cancellation through your Apple subscription settings. Access generally continues for the paid period after cancellation, subject to Apple’s transaction status. Existing memories remain accessible after premium ends; premium creation features may be restricted.

Account deletion does not itself cancel an Apple subscription. Apple handles payment and refund requests. See the Apple Standard End User License Agreement for the applicable app license terms.

Travel information

Country information and animal examples are educational. They do not guarantee a sighting, current access to a location or safe travel. Check the original source and current local guidance. Source and image licenses are shown in Travel; third-party material retains its own license.

Leaving HeyAnimal

You can request account deletion in Profile → Settings → Edit profile · Privacy & support. Read the confirmation carefully and cancel an unwanted Apple subscription separately. External copies of previously shared material cannot be recalled.

Questions and appeals

In Settings, open Privacy & support and choose Moderation appeal. Explain the decision you want reviewed and include the photo reference shown with a hidden photo, if applicable. An authorized reviewer can return your own hidden social photo to safety review. This does not publish it, change its audience or extend its original sharing deadline. A response appears in your support history. Removed comments cannot be reconstructed.

For account restrictions or if you cannot sign in, contact support by email. We verify account control without asking for passwords or sign-in codes. Explain if a report concerns an urgent safety issue. If there is immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
